Description

The University of Mount Union invites applicants for a tenure-track position of Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice in the Department of Sociology and Criminal Justice, to begin August 1st, 2018. 

Examples of Duties

We seek a person with a dynamic classroom presence, and a strong commitment to teaching and research, evidenced through course evaluations and a developed research agenda. Teaching responsibilities could include courses across the program, but will reflect the needs of the department, and may include issues of ethics and diversity in criminal justice, victimology, and courses in the  candidate's research area. The successful candidate will be required to act as a student advisor and will be expected to be active in campus and community service.

Typical Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess a Ph.D. in Criminal Justice or Criminology (ABD may be considered). A JD is not considered an appropriate qualification for this position. Although the area of specialization is open, preference will be given to candidates with practical, professional experience in the field of criminal justice.
