Primary Function

Wor-Wic Community College accepts applications continuously for instructors to work with students in the adult education program at the Eastern Correctional Institution (ECI).

Instructors may be needed to teach any of the following:

  • English as a Second Language,
  • adult basic education
    • Math (including basic math, Algebra I and II, and advanced geometry),
    • Language arts (including reading, writing and language arts),
    • Science
    • Computer skills/office technology
  • GED® preparation courses.

Essential Duties

  • Follows all rules and regulations of the adult education program and the Eastern Correctional Institution (ECI);
  • Instructs students; 
  • Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals established for the program; 
  • Administers standardized tests;
  • Assesses the accomplishments of students

Typical Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree;
  • At least one year of teaching experience;
  • Excellent organizational, record-keeping and human relations skills;
  • Working knowledge of Word and Excel;
  • Preference will be given to candidates who have experience teaching adults.

These positions are grant-funded and do not include benefits. Positions will be filled based on program needs. This is an applicant POOL.
