Job Summary

Perform clerical and accounting duties of a varied nature supporting the maintenance and processing of financial data according to department, college, and legal procedures.Test update.

Essential Duties

Duties and responsibilities performed by this position in descending order of importance.
1. Prepare routine and special financial statements, reports, or data analysis according to time constraints and established procedures.
2. Collect and post payments to various accounts, complete daily deposits, maintain assigned account records, and post and reconcile on regular basis.
3. Coordinate all accounting functions for assigned funds or activities (i.e., travel, student accounts, or auxiliary accounts), including accountability for monies received and disbursed.
4. Maintain a basic filing system or assist in the filing operations of larger and more complex systems. Provide information from files as requested following approved guidelines.
5. Compose correspondence of a routine nature, determines necessity for dispatching letters, notices, brochures, etc. and arrange data into composite tabular forms, assembling completed material for typing or data entry.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
1. Require high school diploma or GED plus some college level coursework in Accounting or Business. Degree requirement may be substituted with equivalent work experience.
2. Require 6 months experience related to accounting procedures.
3. Require demonstrated accurate typing; ability to operate ten key adding machine by touch.
4. Require demonstrated ability to perform duties on own initiative with general supervision.
5. Require demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills.
6. Require demonstrated good customer service skills.



Preferred Qualifications
 1. Prefer demonstrated college or university work experience.
2. Prefer experience with Microsoft Office 365
