The purpose of the Systems Analyst position is to provide solutions for admissions business processes, employing various admissions systems, identifying the most efficient processes for the institution’s enrollment goals, determining the solution that will actually accomplish the business area's true needs and protecting the department’s data assets.  The steps needed to do this are:  analyze and document the current business process, solicit and define solutions, record process descriptions, define possible solutions, identify business risks and mitigations, estimate costs, identify resources, recommend and justify solutions.  Once the project is approved, managing project resources (both internal and external), assisting with project tasks (both functional and technical tasks based on the needs), providing regular updates to project stakeholders and sponsors, identifying issues with appropriate solutions and guiding the project to a successful and timely implementation.  This position is the link between functional areas (interpreting their needs) and technical areas (constantly learning new technologies to support enrollment strategies) as well as the various campus partners that leverage admissions systems and data.
