Primary Function
This part-time position assists inmates under 21 years of age who are preparing to return to the community.
Essential Duties
- Assists inmates in developing individualized re-entry transition plans covering community resources, further education, career choice, housing, and parole and probation;
- Administers career assessments and helps students compile portfolios containing resumes and job applications;
- conducts job searches and establishes connections with the local One Stop Job Market;
- Consults with transitional agencies including housing, parole and probation as needed;
- provides special assistance, such as participating in individualized education program meetings
Typical Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree;
- One year of experience in workforce development or a related field;
- Excellent organizational, human relations, record-keeping, and Word/Excel computer skills;
- Preference will be given to applicants who have a master's degree and experience in corrections, adult education and/or workforce development.
