Job Description
The Employment and Training Coordinator will report directly to the Adult Education Director. This person is responsible for assisting SNAP recipients referred by the Department of Human Services. This position is grant funded. Continued funding for this position is determined by the availability of state funding and performance.
Job Description
Essential Functions Statement(s)
- Interview, assess, and assist clients with educational assistance, job search, and placement
- assistance.
- Assist clients with creating an education and employability plan.
- Coordinate with DHS to establish and maintain the E&T program.
- Serve as the liaison between Adult Education and DHS.
- Maintain positive working relationships with clients, other agencies, and co-workers.
- Maintain client confidentiality.
- Coordinate and conduct workshops on job readiness such as interview skills, resume preparation, application completion, dress for success and other soft skills workshops.
- Explain program rules and procedures to clients, either individually or as a group.
- Receive and track referrals of SNAP recipients to the Employment and Training (E&T) program to
- ensure compliance of mandatory participants.
- Monitor and generate reports documenting client participation hours, involvement, training, and job placement on a monthly basis.
- Assume lead responsibility for the completion of data entry of client participation into the required database.
- Participate in training and meetings as required.
- Assist in classroom as needed.
- Cross train in all programs to be familiar with requirements and to be able to help students reach their goals.
- Perform related duties as required or assigned by supervisor.
