Primary Function
This position assists with employment recruitment efforts, creates and maintains the human resources Web and intranet pages, and monitors the accuracy of the database information.
Essential Duties
- Assists with employment recruitment efforts by administering pre-employment tests, reviewing job description and benefits information with candidates, tracking applicant data, processing new employee paperwork and preparing employment agreements and salary notification letters
- Coordinates and Prepares new employee packets, including all required paperwork; prepares and maintains electronic and paper position description files and edits/prepares position descriptions; creates and maintains personnel folders; issues employee ID cards; and prepares exit interview packets
- Handles the details for open enrollment benefits meetings, new employee orientations, the annual retiree party, employee service awards program, emeritus awards, retiree gifts from the college, the United Way and Community Charity Health campaigns, and other personnel-related meetings/events and processes fringe benefit information, including providing enrollment information to benefit vendors, reconciling benefit bills and resolving disputes, answering general fringe benefits questions for employees
- Creates and maintains the HR Web pages and the HR intranet pages, including the online PPM and PPM forms, and tracks the number of visitors to the HR intranet pages
- Creates reports containing demographic and other essential information for personnel-related reporting purposes, such as retention and turnover rates, and ensures the information entered into the database is accurate
- Provides office support for the human resources department by serving as first contact for the department, handling incoming telephone calls and e-mail messages, assisting walk-in visitors, filing correspondence, routing mail, completing purchase requisitions and other forms, scheduling appointments, reconciling the budget and maintaining a department calendar
- Assists in the coordination of staff development efforts for administrators and support staff members
- Performs other duties as assigned
Typical Qualifications
- Associate degree in business or a related field, bachelor's degree preferred
- Three years of related work experience
- Computer, organizational and human relations skills, and MS Office experience
- Valid driver's license

- Light work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force to move objects. The work also requires the following physical abilities in order to perform the essential job functions: fingering, hearing, mental acuity and repetitive motion
